trueSpace
wasn't made just to make objects for Active Worlds, even
though it is pretty good at it. And although the trueSpace file
format (.cob) is supported in Active Worlds, if you have a public
world or will be distributing your work. You should probably convert
it to the more universally reconised RWX format.
•
Advantages If
you do convert, your file will probably be smaller. Your trying
to learn how make objects purly in RWX script, converting trueSpace
models is a good way to look at how different shapes and methods
are used.
The .cob format
is used less and less in Active Worlds these days, not everyone
even knows AW supports .cob files and most public building worlds
would prefer RWX format objects.
•
Disadvantages Somtimes,
when you convert objects and you have objects overlapping that arent
unioned, they will be unioned somewhat poorly, creating a distored
or cracked line along the edge where they are joined.
I
personally do convert all my work, but to be poltical about it,
.cob files work just as effeficiently as RWX if not better in AW
so take your pick.
