If
you have decided you do want to convert your objects/avatars to
RWX format, there are a number of ways you can do it:
Cobdump 3
(http://activeworlds.com/cobdump3.htm) My
personal favourite and the most popular in general. Cobdump 3 was
written by AWCorp programmer Hamfon. This Dos based program may
appear
hard to use but its actually quite simple. Simply open the program,
ensure the file you want to convert is in the same directory as
the program, then type the fille name of the file (including .cob)
and press enter. Then type 'rwx' and press enter again and the RWX
file will appear in the same directory. Rinse and repeat with multiple
files and when you done converting
files, press 'q' to Exit the program.
Accutrans
(http://www.micromouse.ca) Accutrans
is more that just a simple converter. It allows you to convert just
about any file into any other file. It also allows you to tag, build
heirarchical, and create SEQs for Avatars. Accutrans does offer
a lot of functionaily, but the GUI is a little terrifying at first.
Accutrans is the only program I know
of that can convert RWX back to COB though, even if the results
can vary.
CobToRWX (http://www.activeworlds.com/downloads/cobtorwx.zip) I
don't know much about this program. Quite a few people swear by
it. To use it, drag the .cob file onto the cobtorwx.exe and it should
create the RWX file, simple as that.
