Painting objects is a good alternative to using textures. I paint my objects rather than use textures whereever possible to keeps downloads smaller. Like textures there are two ways of applying them to your work. Wither by applying it to the entire object with the Paint Object button ( ) or by clicking on the faces on the object you would like to paint.

First, open up the Paint Face Atrributes with this button ( ) and set the Shader Attributes if you havent already. You should see a window called 'Plain Color' which has a color picker in it. Use this to select the color you want and then use either of the methods above to apply the color.

Pictured above is a cube. I've painted 3 lines of orange color onto it. Notice when you apply a color to an object, like when giving it a texture, it renders that face or those faces for you to see what it looks like.

Usually with trueSpace, colors appear slightly lighter in Active Worlds, so if your blending a color with a texture, be aware that the color should be a little bit darker so it appears right in Active Worlds.
